RTT’s Mobile Welding Platform (MWP) was tested and validated at Edison Welding Institute and Bath Iron Works under the supervision of the National Shipbuilding Research Program. Today, the system is operational at shipyards throughout the United States. RTT’s system is designed for GMAW (standard mig and pulse arc) processes.
RTT’s Mobile Welding Platforms (MWP) are precision welding systems made up of a tractor platform (base unit), a smart oscillating torch carriage (weaver) and a controller/interface.
The base unit uses twin tracks equipped with powerful magnet pads and a unique suspension system enabling the system to traverse a wide variety of ferrous structures.
The carriage is essentially a smart torch management system that uses a linear oscillator and adjustment assembly that supports a wide range of welding operations.
A variety of controller options are available including game type controllers and tablet interfaces.
Our large MWP is able to carry up to a 20 lb wire spool. Miller systems are currently integrated into our large MWP. Lincoln systems can be integrated on request.
Our small MWP is not designed to carry wire. Welders will generally drag a suitcase wire feed system alongside the small MWP.
A variety of vision systems are available for integration with our MWPs. Our system support Servo Robot Systems and Meta Vision Systems.
